Ghost Whisperer

Jennifer Love Hewitt is the main character Melinda, she can see dead people. Haven’t we heard that before? Well, this show is in it’s second season. In each episode there is a person who has died who needs help with unfinished business in order to move on to the light. Each episode is heart wrenching, the first season was all emotional and the second season we get to see more of the dark side of her character and life. The first season had a cliff hanger ending in which her sidekick Angela died when driving to see her brother when a plane landed on her and killed her and all the passengers. Her husband is a dreamy handy man who is a parametic.He knows about her special gifts.

This week her and her husband go camping. While trying to sleep she is disturbed by a ghost. She follows the commotion to a car with a doll in it. A woman in her 20′s haunts her for the rest of the episode. She wants to see if her daughter is ok. Her daughter is now in her 20′s and is about to get married.Her dad told her that her mother left them and then died when she was 3, and that she was a little psychotic.

Her mother follows Melinda to meet the daughter. The mother breaks all the vases in the house and trhows objects at the soon-to-be husband.The mother got stuck in a snowfall while trying to get away from her husband. She had her little girl with her while she died in the snow. She used her warmth to keep her daughter alive.She was running from her husband because he was abusing her. She detroyed all the vases because that is what her husband use to do. He would abuse her then spoil her afterwards as a way of trying to make it up to her.

Her purpose is to protect her daughter and keep her from making the same mistakes she did. She tries to reach her daughter to tell her that abuse should never happen and the things that go on are not her fault. It a an episode that any person from an abusive family will know all too well.
